1916, somewhere on the Eastern Front, between Poland and Russia, three orphans are the only survivors in an orphanage. Beyond the gate, everything is devastation, ruins, and decay. They have only one means of survival: to lure, kill, and eat wounded soldiers looking for shelter. 
 
One of the children can no longer bear this semblance of life. He discovers new friends in the magnificent Victorian dolls that fill the shelves of one of the orphanage's empty rooms. 

The dolls agree to help him on one condition: that he give them eyes to fill their empty sockets...
