Afterlight Comics launches the first collected edition of BRÄO's Vermilliön, bringing together two interconnected psychological horror stories in a new foil-cover graphic novel.

The new edition launched on Kickstarter and reached its funding goal within just 30 minutes, demonstrating an immediate response from horror comic and independent graphic novel readers.
For the first time, Vermilliön Part I and Part II will be brought together in a single perfect-bound graphic novel, presented in a special foil-cover edition.
Blending psychological horror with tragedy, obsession, identity and transformation, Vermilliön tells two interconnected stories exploring the darkness that can exist beneath seemingly ordinary lives.
What is Vermilliön?
Originally released separately in 2018 and 2024, the two parts of Vermilliön approach psychological horror through different characters and experiences while sharing common themes of trauma, desire and transformation.
This new Afterlight Comics release marks the first time both stories have been collected together in one graphic novel.

Part I – Persephone
A chance meeting with a mysterious stranger transforms young Persephone's night out into something far darker.
What begins as an ordinary encounter descends into a haunting story of abuse, horror and tragedy, setting in motion the themes that run throughout Vermilliön.

Part II – Astra
Astra seemingly has everything she was told should make her happy.
A devoted wife, loving mother and talented artist, she lives a quiet suburban life with her high school sweetheart and their young son. Behind the white picket fence is a carefully maintained existence built around routine, responsibility and sacrifice.
Yet beneath the surface, something feels deeply wrong.
Unable to understand the growing emptiness within her, Astra becomes increasingly detached from the life she worked so hard to create. The expectations placed upon her begin to suffocate both her creativity and her sense of self.
Then a series of seemingly insignificant coincidences begins drawing her towards an unexpected path.
A mysterious encounter presents Astra with the possibility of something more and forces her to confront desires she has buried for years.
But awakening comes at a price.
The closer Astra moves towards reclaiming herself, the more she risks losing everything she holds dear.
